Privacy

Short version: no advertising profile. Audio is deleted when the request ends. The text of a public Reel is kept for a few weeks so a later request for the same post does not run the speech model again.

What we collect

The link you paste is sent to our server so we can fetch the post. Your IP address is held in memory for up to one hour to enforce the hourly request limit. If you make an account, we keep the email and the credit balance that goes with it.

What happens to the video

The audio is written to a temporary folder on the server, sent to the speech provider, and deleted when the request finishes. Files are not backed up, mirrored, or served to anyone else.

What happens to the transcript

The words, the timings, and the post’s shortcode are kept for 30 days, so the next request for that public Reel can skip the speech model. We do not keep who asked, and we do not keep the video file. A share link such as /reel/ABC names the post; it is not a private copy of your session. Close the tab and the text on screen is gone, so download it if you want to keep it yourself.

Third parties

• Speech provider. Audio goes to one specialist speech to text provider, under business terms that exclude the audio from training their models. They receive the audio and nothing about you.
• Hosting. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs, the same as any web host.
• Page counting. A cookie-free counter records that a page was opened. It builds no profile and follows nobody across other sites.
• Microsoft Clarity. This one records how the pages are used: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, and a replay of the page as you saw it. It sets its own cookies so that repeat visits can be told apart, and the recordings go to Microsoft under their terms. We use it to find the parts of the tool that confuse people.
  The box you paste into and the finished transcript are both masked, so neither the link you looked up nor the words that came back appear in a recording.
• No advertising. There is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager and no advertising pixel on any page.

Cookies

Microsoft Clarity sets first party cookies to tell one session from the next. They are used for the recordings described above and for nothing else. No advertising cookie is set by us or by anyone else here.

Your theme choice is kept in your browser’s local storage and never leaves the device.

Children

This tool is not directed at children under 13.
